WILMINGTON, DE, April 21, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Aleksandra Ziolkowska-Boehm with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Ziolkowska-Boehm celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

As a child, Aleksandra Ziolkowska-Boehm always loved to read, often receiving books from her father, who was a history lover. A native of Poland, she obtained a master's degree in literature from the University of Lodz in 1973 and a Doctor of Philosophy in humanistic studies from the University of Warsaw in 1978. She began her career as a private assistant to Melchior Wankowicz, a renowned Polish writer. In recognition of Dr. Ziolkowska-Boehm's dedication and support throughout Mr. Wankowicz's career, he dedicated his last book to her for her help and research and donated all his archives to her after his death.

Dr. Ziolkowska-Boehm later worked with the Polish Television Theater, through which she appeared in four documentaries, including one about her great uncle, Korczak Ziolkowski. Mr. Ziolkowski was an accomplished Polish-American sculptor who was the creative mastermind behind the Crazy Horse Memorial in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The famed monument honors Crazy Horse, a legendary warrior of the Lakota people, and is considered to be the largest mountain carving in the world despite not being fully completed yet.

As an accomplished writer and essayist, Dr. Ziolkowska-Boehm has published numerous compositions throughout her illustrious career. Her work mainly focuses on subject matters such as historical biographies, the lives of Native Americans and autobiographical stories about her travels. Publishing myriad books in both Polish and English, Dr. Ziolkowska-Boehm has received countless awards for her literary efforts. In 2019, she was celebrated with Expressions of Recognition and Admiration from the Polish Armenian Culture and Heritage Foundation and presented with the Witness to History Award from the Institute of National Remembrance in Warsaw. Among her many honors, Dr. Ziolkowska-Boehm was especially proud to have been the recipient of two Fulbright scholarships and awarded with a fellowship in literature by the Delaware Division of the Arts.

Dr. Ziolkowska-Boehm has maintained her professional affiliation with numerous organizations in her areas of expertise, including the PEN America Club of New York, the Fulbright Association, the Polish American Historical Association, the Polish Writers' Association in Warsaw and ZAiKS, the Polish Society of Authors and Composers. She has also been associated with the Union of Polish Writers Abroad in London, the Polish Institute of Arts and Science of America, the Kosciuszko Foundation, the Pilsudski Institute of America and the Polish Heritage Society of Philadelphia. In the coming years, Dr. Ziolkowska-Boehm hopes to continue developing her ideas into more books and essays while enjoying traveling, bird-watching and gardening in her spare time.
